I had the pleasure of photographing this cute mom, dad and big brother to be, before the arrival of their new baby. They were all very happy and ready for photos! Life changes quickly and dramatically when we are growing our families, and once it changes it’s sometimes tough to remember what it was like before. This is the main reason why frequent family photo sessions with young children and parents are worth their weight in gold. These photos only become more special and valuable as time goes on.
On this day, we met at a local park in Piedmont, Ca, that had some gorgeous scenery. I am especially fond of the little Japanese garden at this park, it is a lovely setting all year round. In the spring the cherry blossoms are abundant and pop with pink. In the fall this park and garden is filed with orange and red foliage that creates a wonderful autumn backdrop. Little kids love to run around here and are usually rewarded with some time on the play structure after our photo session which keeps them alert and happy.
IMHO pregnancy is a special time that should be documented each month (as a mom of two, I felt this way back then), but one professional photo session at around 7 or 8 months is super special and worth the effort. Moms and their kids love seeing photos years later, and these photos are fun to keep around for later generations too.
