I love photographing people, and celebrities are no exception. My goal is to get the best photos possible for my clients, in the most relaxed and fun way. If you’re wondering if photographing celebrities is a nerve wracking thing, yes, maybe a little. It was a little in the beginning, when I was new to showing up at events with a lot of celebrities, or more intimate events where celebrity podcasts were happening. But now that i’ve been photographing celebs for 7 years, there are only a few nerves, and they are mostly around making sure I get the right shot, and that my camera gear is working. But that is the feeling I have with every shoot I do, there are always a small amount of nerves, but because I aim to please my clients and deliver a great image (or maybe 100 images), I sometimes have to remind myself of this: I’ve been a professional photographer for 15 years, delivering great and lovely business photos, with a very high success rate! Once I remember that, I can then chill out a little bit and not worry so much. I love brand and commercial photography, and I help Marin and Bay Area Business create images for their marketing projects all the time. Working for I-Heart Media is like that too, my goal is to provide them with the best photos for their marketing purposes.
Actually, I thought I would give a little background on how I started photographing celebrities. Hopefully you’ll stick around for this interesting read! In 2017 I was a busy family photographer in Marin and the surrounding Bay Area, also doing some commercial work for some popular local brands like Lesley Evers, and BlissHaus. One day out of the blue I got a call from a friend who asked if I could shoot a last minute event for her friend (who is Ryan Seacrest’s producer). I said YES, because I was available and because it sounded so interesting and I actually went to high school with said producer, but I hadn’t seen her in years. The event was in San Jose at the SAP convention center, and I was told there would be celebrities. It turned out to be an I-Heart 80s concert. I had never been to an I-Heart concert, and I didn’t know what to expect. It was a blast, I had so much fun, and it was such a unique and cool experience!! Everyone I met that night was so nice!! I wasn’t sure what to expect. I even met Rick(y) Schroder (Silver Spoons), who was my childhood crush! Wow.
